Whether we work on a keyboard, or use our hands and arms for work in other ways, we tend not to notice their tension until we’re in pain. This visualization helps give relief and can also prevent strain if done regularly.

One place in the body we can hold a lot of stress and tension, but often do not consider, are the hands! Whether we are using them on computer keyboards, to text or otherwise in our work, or we clench them when we’re feeling angry or frustrated, becoming aware of the tension in our hands and finding ways to relieve that tension can be very effective as a general stress-relief tool! Try this exercise at your desk, or when you’re travelling, or after difficult meetings, tests, activities, or when you’re feeling angry or upset. You will find it helpful as a release, a relief, as relaxation, or generally as a stress management tool.
